Note: On February 27, 2014, Adidas Japan announced four members of the idol girl group AKB48—Oshima Yuko, Oka Nana, Kojimo Mako, and Nishino Mihime—as their "engine ambassadors." This appointment means the four idol girls would model the new uniform for the Japanese national team that was worn at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. This was part of the "2014 to Power the Dream" project by Adidas Japan and the Japan Football Association (JFA). At the launch of the Japanese national team's home uniform, Adidas Japan created a special design for AKB48, featuring the chest and back numbers with a special AKB48 emblem, wearing the number 48. A special "AKB48" patch is also featured on the right sleeve. All 87 members of AKB48 were also given replicas of the Japanese national team's blue home uniform.
